Austin, Texas-based KLD Energy Technologies Inc., specializing in electric propulsion and generation systems, is going to Wenling to work with Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle Co., Ltd., to create electric rides.
The Chinese firm, known as Qianjiang, is a major player in the world moto-market, including owning Italian motorcycle company Benelli.
“We are pleased to announce our partnership with Qianjiang, a company with highly advanced quality manufacturing capabilities and tremendous international reach,” said Christian Okonsky, chief executive officer of KLD Energy Technologies. “This agreement supports our long-term production objectives and enables us to rapidly deliver our propulsion and generation systems on a global level.”
Qianjiang is one of the largest two-wheeled vehicle manufacturers in China, with annual output of more than one million units. The company is also jointly developing lithium ion phosphate batteries with Henderson, Nevada-based K2 Energy Solutions, a manufacturer and seller of rechargeable battery systems.
“Our conclusion is that the KLD system is a high-performing, advanced technological design with no comparison, especially in the electric motorcycle category. We sincerely look forward to our continued partnership with KLD Energy Technologies,” said Yezheo Yang, deputy chief technology officer, Qianjiang.
KLD Energy Technologies’ is also working in diversified industrial channel markets that can benefit from efficient, high-torque motors, including wind energy generation equipment, forklifts, elevators, escalators, air conditioners, pumps, and three- and four-wheel electric vehicles.
