Wanna race a single?
Honda's got your ticket but you need to be serious in your purchase because the bike is a dedicated, track-only ride suitable for use in U.S. Grand Prix classes and WERA racing.
Honda recently announced they will import the new NSF250R, "developed for FIM GP road racing competition in the Moto3 class."
According to Honda, "the NSF250R is powered by an all-new liquid-cooled single-cylinder 249cc four-stroke engine specifically designed for racing."
Honda says the engine cylinder tilts back 15 degrees to concentrate mass and titanium valves for both intake and exhaust reduce friction and lighten the valve train. Cylinders are offset and treated with chemical slickening surfaces and a cassette gearbox allows quick changing of gears for a variety of tracks.
The NSF250R will be made available to "all Honda motorcycle dealers who wish to become an authorized NSF250R dealer," Honda says. Delivery is estimated for February 2012 but orders must be in by Sept. 2 of this year.
MSRP for the NSF250R has been established at $28,599.
