UPDATE: James Jarman out of ICU

By rainman Print Preview

James, in Yamaha shirt, relaxes at a recent bike night

After nearly a month in the University of Virginia Medical Center suffering from septic shock, James Jarman is out of the intensive care unit and on a regular floor of the hospital. There's even a good chance he will be home tomorrow.

And the news comes from the man himself.

James, who is in charge of the daily operations on the floor of Jarman's Sportcycles with his father Jimmy, wrote on his Facebook account that he's "in a normal room now @ UVa" and thanked local friends and riders for their prayers.

James' Facebook site has been the center of rider wishes and prayers since James was admitted on June 30. On July 4 his heart stopped and he received vigorous CPR to restart it. Friends and family said there were days when things did not look good, but  they never gave up hope or prayer and sought the same from friends.

James indicated he hopes to be home on Monday, although nothing is certain. He also hopes at some point to have the blood mobile stop by the shop as he received several pints during his stay.
