Schuyler man killed in crash

Jason D. Thomas, 26, died Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash when his motorcycle went off the road in a curve on Secretary Sands Road, according to Albemarle County police.

According to police, Mr. Thomas was riding at about 11:3o p.m. when his bike went off the left side of the road coming out of a curve went into a ditch and struck a fence. Police have not determined all of the factors that led to the crash.

According to the Daily Progress, arrangements with Hill and Wood Funeral Home are incomplete.

Mr. Thomas is the second area rider to die in a crash this year. Ethan Kenney was killed in a crash over the Fourth of July weekend.
