Richmond riderĀ  Charles "Chuck" Talley, who has been riding since 1954 -- legally anyway, received last month one of the Governor's Transportation Safety Awards for his efforts in the motorcycle community.

According to DMV officials, Mr. Talley "provides information and instruction to military personnel on purchasing and operating motorcycles. He also assists with the Richmond Public Schools' motorcycle safety program, which is part of the driver education curriculum."

Mr. Talley also managed the Virginia Ride 2 Recovery program that escorts wounded veterans traveling via motorcycle from Washington, D.C. to Virginia Beach.

Good on ya, Chuck.
