Family and friends will honor the life of Ethan Kenney, 26, the Crozet rider who died in a crash during the July 4 weekend.
Mr. Kenny, who this spring completed the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's basic riding course, was riding July 3 when his motor struck a pickup on Gordonsville Road near Klockner Road.
Albemarle County police are still investigating what caused the crash. No one has been charged.
He was airlifted by helicopter to the University of Virginia Medical Center with life-threatening injuries from the scene. He died later that evening.
He apparently is the first Society of Bikers member to be killed in a crash this year, although there have been 10 fatalities in Albemarle County since January.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. at Linda Kenney's home in Crozet. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Ethan "My Darlin'" Kenney Fund, P.O. Box 240, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
SOBs are encouraged sign Mr. Kenney's virtual guestbook at Legacy.com.
