Ducati -- with help from the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration -- is bringing back its ever cool, wish I'd get to ride one MTS1200S, known as the Multistrada 1200 S, for a little fuel injection glitch.
Seems that, should the rider downshift or maneuver at slow speeds with the clutch pulled in and the engine idling -- like at stop lights on U.S. 29 when you're barely moving so you just ride the clutch -- the engine could stall.
If the engine stalls while you're maneuvering, you fall. If you fall, you crash. If you crash, you not only look silly and risk denting your $20,000 ride, you could get hurt.
Nah.
Anyway, Ducati is recalling the Multi and will reflash the fuel injection for no charge, which is nice considering they goofed it up in the first place.
Call the Duc Pond at 800-231-6696.
