Corey "Megatron" Guthrie, an officer with the Charlottesville-based Street Thundercats MC, died early this morning in a single-vehicle crash on the U.S. 250 Bypass.

Charlottesville Police say Mr. Guthrie was westbound on the bypass at about 1 a.m. when his motorcycle struck a guardrail near the Locust Avenue exit.
The accident is still under investigation.
Mr. Guthrie is the second member of STC to die in a crash this summer.  Aaron "Dub" Boyd died in June returning from a club run to a Pagan's MC-sponsored fundraiser in Lynchburg.
Mr. Boyd was thrown high-side from his motorcycle while merging from U.S. 29 northbound onto eastbound I-64.
