C’ville motorcycle meetup doing it on Sundays

By rainman Print Preview

Carl Moje, who put together the virtual riding society "Charlottesville Motorcycle Meetup," just put out a reminder that the group features Sunday rides at 1:30 p.m., rolling out of Martin's Grill in Forest Lakes.

"Sunday is a meet and ride session," Mr. Moje mentioned in a recent e-mail. " We meet at the selected venue between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. There is no agenda, they are purely social and provide an opportunity to meet other bikers and organize your own group rides beyond the Sunday ride."

Most of the rides are short in duration and usually over by 4 pm or 5 pm, he said.

Joining the site provides easy e-mail updates of plans and allows riders to make their own plans without going through Mr. Moje.

"Our members have different personal schedules and preferences and therefore can organize other group rides other than participate in the scheduled Sunday ride.," he said. "Members of the motorcycle group can broadcast their own riding plans by simply sending a message to motorcycle-111@meetup.com The message will be seen by all members of the meetup group."
