Big Dog curbs 2004 puppies for wiring recall

By rainman Print Preview

Big Dog Choppers announced a recall on 2004 model bikes for a loose connection in the wiring harness that could defriz the "electronic harness controller."

Think of it as an invisible fence for your Big Dog Mastiff.

Any way, the condition "may cause the motorcycle to experience intermittent loss of electrical power to various components." That's not good, because it "can lead to, among other things, a loss of headlamp function or a vehicle stall, increasing the risk of a crash."

Hmm, guess they shouldn't have hired Lucas "Prince of Darkness" Electronics to do the wiring.

Big Dog will notify owners and the recall campaign will begin May 24.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, which authorized the recall, at 1-888-327-4236.
