New SOB site guide

The Jeffersonian SOBs website was birthed several months ago with the idea of bringing together the local motorcycling community. It is a place to gather, ride, share info, and be SOBs. The previous design was ambitious with a mix of bleeding edge software programs. This new site design rededicates our effort to the goals set forth previously. The current design puts info at your finger tips with a minimum of effort. Gone are the groups, the wires, activity streams, and other distractions. The site has been boiled down, reduced, and focused.

You will notice an increased focus on news placing content front and center. We have a position that will highlight our latest featured article followed by a list of recent posts. To the left of the featured section you will see aggregated content from Motorcycle News and Asphalt and Rubber. Clicking those story links will navigate you to that article on their site. That is one of the large changes to the site. We are now aggregating motorcycle news from all over the web, automatically! You can check this page found under the news nav drop-down menu for one-stop world M/C news.

This page, also found under the news tab, will show more local content that includes our latest articles, recent Charlottesville M/C Craigslist entries, upcoming events, and local videos. It is now easier to share links to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter via our social media tools found on various pages.

Our old forums are new again. Once registered, you now have direct access to the forum system to post topics. The most recent of which will show up on the front page of the site. I hope you find this to be quite a bit better than the previous groups system. You can post photos, links, and of course, your thoughts.

We have another trick up our sleeves as well. If you have a web enabled smartphone, you can access a modified version of the site. You can read local news and comment on the posts.

The last stop on this tour is our classifieds system. Craigslists is great, we use it too, but we are giving you an additional place to post your gear for sale, free of charge.
