P-3 cubed
They’ve crushed my bike.
In an effort to distance themselves from the cute, cuddly, hard-running but not-so-fast Buell Blast, Erik Buell, the man who designed it, has turned it into a cube.
Suitable for an ottoman, they say. Or, perhaps, a coffee table.
My current ottoman doesn’t drip primary oil fluid from a pinched o-ring — just haven’t [...]
New SOBs
New SOBs!
Congrats to Darak, Danika, Shelby, Travis, Joe, Chris, Billy, Dennis, Brian, Julie, and Chip, the latest to get their M from the DMV through the Albemarle County MSF class! Rock on SOBs!
Carolina Blue
I was avoiding the office today, out and about gathering things and odds for a little bit of writing, when I stumbled on Jarmans.
OK, I didn’t actually stumble on them. I knew where they were. I thought I’d just drop in and say howdy, maybe grab some frozen dessert from next door and what did [...]
Headed north again
Here is a quick picture from my ride up to Philadelphia. This is a picture of the mountain you see when heading north on 340 just south of Luray.
Best time of day
It’s dog-walking, trash-setting-on-the-curb, coffee-spilling, cornflake-wearing early as I stagger about the neighborhood doing all of those task and finally sitting down on the picnic table on the deck to watch the deer eat the azaleas in the backyard when I can hear it.
It’s¬† the voice of a 13-year-old junior high school kid who’s always trying [...]
We're everywhere
Stranded in a world of make-believe, also known as the judicial system, I’ve been out of touch with reality with the exception of the morning ride to court and the evening ride back.
It’s a surreal world in the chambers, a world of hearsay and evidence procedures outlined with such anal retentiveness by 250-plus years of [...]
Ready for work
The ground is still wet and the road is damp, but the sun is shining, the birds are singing and Thumper is standing on his sidestand calling my name.
Not today, little fella. Gotta take the Yoda and move some stuff.
With responsibility, something everyone should avoid at all costs, comes sacrifice and my weekend jaunts to [...]
July 4th Skyline Ride
Boy am I sure glad I went riding yesterday instead of today. Mother Nature is throwing buckets down on Charlottesville right now.
I have to admit, in the past I was a hater. Area bikers would head up Rockfish Gap and make that right hand turn into the SNP and I would shake my head. The [...]
Flying your flag
Here’s the Rebel from AFX in both orange and black.
It’s actually called the FX-90 — my bad — and retails for less than $100. There’s also the Freedom with the US flag motif in both black and white. Here’s black: I have the previous version of the Freedom in FX-10 model. It’s got a great [...]
